AUSTIN, TX (August 18, 2021) — Four Hands, the leading global designer and wholesaler of home furnishings, has taken a cue from nature for its latest collection, with sun-washed finishes, organic silhouettes, earthen accents, and more. For this new collection, the design team worked with natural materials, like petrified wood and marble, and a neutral palette to create comfortable, calming spaces in line with their New Forma and Modern Nomad looks.
“People are looking for relaxation and peace—neutral tones help with that,” said Adam Dunn, Four Hands Creative Director. “Our team understands what the world is going through and what our customers want, which is to be surrounded by tranquility with thoughtful pieces that transform their home and workspaces into a sanctuary.”
Petrified wood brings natural live edges and carved details into accessories and end tables that are unique from one piece to the next. Natural stone, including travertine, sandstone, and marble, is sculpted into fluid shapes and combined with mixed materials like wood and iron.
“This launch was all about comfort,” says Dunn. “You’ll find our color palette is very calming and neutral, and our latest styles offer a natural aesthetic that feels more grounded, giving people a sense of relief.”
The softened tones and natural finishes carry into outdoor debuts, including Kaplan, a new outdoor suite, framed in solid 100% FSC-certified wood with upholstered lounge pieces in a new quick-drying woven mesh. Other statement pieces feature sculptural curves and over-scaled shapes in functional UV-resistant and water-repellent fabrics.
The release also includes more than 100 accessories and lighting, with a focus on ceramic and natural materials, including oak, seagrass, and palm leaves, and special techniques, like volcanic glazing, to create unique textured patterns of craters and ridges. Woven materials, like rugs made from jute and wool, soften spaces, while stone and petrified wood bring a novel, nature-driven look to mirrors, accessories, and more.
Continuing with their focus on producing high-quality art in-house, they’ve brought in emerging artists, including Jamie Beckwith, Aileen Fitzgerald, and many other incredibly talented artists, to feature 70+ new pieces of art, featuring earthy tones, dramatic landscapes with a heavy emphasis on light, and texture-rich reproductions. All are designed to pair perfectly with the new nature-inspired collections and handmade at Four Hands’ new state-of-the-art studio in Austin, Texas.
