Interior Designer Bobby Berk Talks Queer Eye Season 2 & Favorite Four Hands Styles

Earlier this year, hit Millennium-era reality series Queer Eye was rebooted for Netflix, complete with an as-fabulous new cast. An integral part of that talented team is interior designer Bobby Berk, who hand-selected Four Hands products to fully furnish the cast’s stylish Atlanta loft.

Thanks to the popularity of the February-launched first season, Queer Eye’s second season hits Netflix June 15.

We caught up with the busy designer following the Fab Five’s first Australian press tour. Read on to learn more about Bobby’s aesthetic and favorite Four Hands styles.

WHAT DRAWS YOU TO FOUR HANDS DESIGNS?
I love Four Hands’ tendency to marry super-unique styles with clean, modern forms – a wide style range which allows a designer to create an entire space without it feeling too sparse or too busy. Few brands out there have styling great enough to allow for that kind of versatility.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ALL-TIME FAVORITE FOUR HANDS STYLES?
One of my favorite-ever Four Hands designs is the Sloan Dining Chair. I’ve used it several times in clients’ residential homes, in the restaurant of a Four Seasons Hotel, in home design projects for Netflix executives… I even have these dining chairs in my own home!

IS THE FIRST TASK YOU TACKLE WHEN APPROACHING A NEW PROJECT?
The first question I ask each client is how the room will be used. As in, how to maximize the functionality of a room so that the client may live his or her best life in that space.

WHAT’S ONE TRAIT ABOUT YOU THAT YOUR CLIENTS WOULD CONSIDER BEING SO “BOBBY”?
Always being on top of things, making sure all is running as it should.

Now available in three different color coverings, the Sloan Dining Chair features luxuriously-quilted top-grain leather and pop of heavy burlap.
