(Almost) Everlasting Blooms
Hot summer days inspire an eye-catching, long-lasting arrangement. Cacti and succulents, when used just as you would any other flower, offer both color and textural contrasts paired with more traditional blooms like hellebore and hyacinth.
Once these delicates begin to fade, simply remove them, freshen the water, and re-arrange the cacti, thistle, orchids, boronia, and beehive ginger — which has a lovely, honeyed smell.
Pro tip: To make the most of a lovely small cacti, un-pot, rinse thoroughly, and insert a thin dowel into the center of the cactus stem. Surround with remaining blooms for cover.
